FAQ

Since we are a brand new church, we can imagine that you may have many questions or thoughts going through your mind about our church. You might be thinking that you really like the Vision and Purpose of our church. You may like that we want to reach out to others. But what about the general things? Music? Do I have to wear something special? We do our best to answer those and other questions below. If you have a question that isn't answered, please feel free to call or email and we would be happy to answer any questions you might have.

If a line were drawn in the sand, we would have to say that we are definately more conservative than not. In our services, you will likely find smiling faces, friendly people, and hands raised in praise to our Lord. We do our best to make you feel at home. While we encourage everyone to get involved with the services such as singing, it is certainly not a requirement. We won't single you out or draw attention to you in any way. We won't put you on the spot. You will be able to just sit back and enjoy the service.
Our Pastors message is based on the Bible, yet is relevant for today and the struggles or issues you might be facing. The Bible is the bases for everything we do.
We mentioned earlier that we are more conservative. All that means is that we are NOT what would be classified as a "Charismatic" church. We do not practice some of the things that you might see on T.V. Things such as being 'slain in the spirit' are not practices that we believe are scriptural so they are not things that we do. We also do not practice speaking in other 'tongues'. Unfortunately, speaking in "tongues" often causes confusion and since the Bible tells us that God is not the author of confusion, this is also something we don't practice.
So if you are looking for a conservative church with a contemporary flare, we just might be the church for you.

The vision that we have for our outreach is far reaching. We want to make an impact on our community by making sure as many as possible are fed and warm. We want to provide a haven for people that have been through personal disasters and help in any other way we can. But it doesn't stop locally. We get aggravated when we see tragedies such as Hurricane Katrina or the World Trade Center disasters and we don't see many Christian organizations helping out. We aim to change that. We want to put together disaster response teams that are full of people that are ready in a moment to travel to these places and provide much needed assitance. This will obviously take some time to implement since it does take personel and finances, but it is something we will shoot for in the future.

We do our best not to be one sided when it comes to music. Music is certainly one of the most personal things people hold to and we know this. So we are asking that everyone do their best to recognize the different tastes that everyone has. We do our best to find balance. While I would say that the higher percentage of our music is of the contemporary flavor, we also play some hymns as well. Chances are you will find something you like.

There is no dress code in our church. Whether it is jeans and a T-shirt or a 3 piece suit, you will fit in here. We care more about the fact that you are in church than what you wear and we are pretty sure that God feels the same way. The only thing we ask is that everyone, male & female - young & old, regardless of what you wear, please dress modestly (meaning nothing too revealing please). We want to do our best to provide an environment where the focus is on God and Him alone. Thank you for your understanding.

This church, from the Pastor to our newest member, is made up of people. Because of that, our church isn't perfect. We have our flaws and make mistakes. But we do our best to be kind, caring, compassionate and encouraging. Doesn't matter what your life is like now. We all have past and current issues we deal with the same as everyone else. We just do our best to excercise forgiveness and love each other regardless.
