OUR MISSION
At Valley Church there are many things that we want and need to do, but there are a few things that we MUST do.
Our Purpose
There are a lot of things that go on when you think of church. Singing, preaching, youth programs, Bible study, etc. All of these things are wonderful. They provide an atmosphere where people can come together and fellowship, encourage and hopefully learn together. We are a new church, but we still understand the importance of these things.

However, regardless of what a church has or doesn't have, there are a few things that we feel are absolute MUST haves at church. This is the essence of our Purpose Statement. We have utilized the word MUST as an easy way to remember the essentials for Valley Church.
M - Magnify God with all we do
We must magnify God in all we do both in church and outside its walls. We magnify God within the church by singing praises to Him. By praying as one body to Him. By both the preaching AND hearing of His Word. By giving back to God by giving of our Time, our Talent and our Treasure to bless others around us. Outside the church we magnify God in similar ways. We pray to Him, we read His Word and continue to grow and mature to show Him that He has taken over first place in our lives. When we do this outside the church walls when no one is looking, that is an awesome way to truly magnify God
U - Unify our church and community
We must push for unity both inside and outside the church walls as well. The bible tells us in Ephesians 4:3 "Make every effort to keep the UNITY of the Spirit through the bond of peace". Making every effort means that we must do whatever WE can do to keep unity within the church as much as it is up to us. Try to see the good in others. Try to be patient with others. Don't hold grudges. Try and deal with misunderstandings quickly. In doing this, we will be a unified church. A unified church will change the world, a divided church will fall. Outside our church, division is rampant in our valley and in our community. Stories abound of church splits, families that are hurting, even churches attacking one another. Obviously this is outside of Gods plan. When we begin to treat others in our community the same way that we strive for unity inside our church, we will begin seeing huge strides with our community becoming more and more unified and focused more on making positive changes around us.

There is enough fighting going on in the world for there to be fighting within the church. Let's make it our mission together to stay unified.
S - Solidify marriages and relationships
This particular part of the purpose is certainly beneficial within the church, but is primarily focused outside. By Solidify, we are talking about solidifying relationships.

Our primary goal is to solidify the home. That starts by solidifying marriages. The importance of marriage has far reaching implications. As the family goes, so goes our society. Think of all the communities where broken homes are the norm and you will find higher crime rates, higher rates of STD's and that is just the beginning.

But we can't stop there. There are parent/child relationships that are broken, family/friend relationships, worker/co-worker relationships and the list could go on and on. Repairing these relationships helps to make forgiveness a staple in our lives. With forgiveness comes peace and joy and that allows us to fully enjoy the relationships around us more and that will only make them stronger.
T - Testify to share with everyone
It is incredibly important to share with those in our church the things that God is doing in your life, but we need to share what God is doing in our lives with those outside the church too.
If we are able to fulfill the other parts of this purpose in our own lives and in our church, then why wouldn't we want to share that with others around us? All of the things listed above bring peace and joy in our lives. We should then have a great desire to share that with others. Fulfilling this purpose within the church is awesome, but if we don't share it, then we are only helping ourselves. We need to share with those outside the church too.

We're not talking about becoming a street preacher, nor going door to door and sharing this with people you've never seen before (although you certainly can if you want). But we're talking more about sharing your testimony, and the testimony of the church, with your friends and family, co-workers and acquaintances. There is not one person that couldn't benefit from putting God first in their life or from a repaired relationship or from a closer marriage.

You may not think you are qualified or know enough to share anything with anyone, but all you need to know is what God is doing, and has done, in your life and that is enough to share with those you care about.
